"In March, 1803, Newstead Abbey was leased by Hanson to Henry Edward, nineteenth Baron Grey de Ruthyn, a young man of 23. He invited Byron to stay with him at Newstead in November 1803 and apparently made some aberrant sexual advances to the boy, which offended and revolted him." (BLJ 1-45n)
